Herbal Stretch Mark Removal

November 7, 2016

Stretch marks can occur in your teens as your body develops and grows, when you are pregnant, or from a rapid weight gain at any age. They can appear on the abdomen, waist, hips, breasts, lower back, arms, buttock or thigh area and look like stripes or streaks on the skin. As the skin stretches, the collagen weakens and results in the formation of fine lines or scars under the top layer of skin.

While they are not harmful to your body, it is easy to become self-conscious when these do occur. For this reason, many individuals turn to herbal cures to reduce or lighten the visibility of stretch marks. While products such as Fixaderm are created especially with scars, stretch marks and sun damage in mind, there are many other home-made herbal remedies that you can try for yourself. Of course, not all these products will have the same effect as a specially formulated herbal mix, but it may work to varying degrees.

Some effective oils are:

Calendula Oil

Calendula oil has many amazing uses – reducing stretch marks is just one of them. You can apply calendula oil directly to the skin or mix with olive oil for a DIY herbal solution. Extremely gentle, calendula oil is safe for sensitive skin.  One reason we recommend Fixaderm is that it contains calendula oil along with lavender oil and rosehip oil (see below) as well as other oils that assist in reducing scars and stretch marks.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil has amazing antifungal and antiseptic properties and can do wonders on scars and stretch marks. It can also be mixed with almond oil to boost the overall maintenance effects on the skin.

Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli is a bushy green plant with soft leaves native to South East Asia and has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, offering incredible restorative healing properties for all skin types. Patchouli is a powerful essential oil which can help fade scars and stretchmarks.  It is used in Fixaderm to help with these conditions.

Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil contains Trans-Retinoic acid which is responsible for its amazing pharmacological properties.  It can reduce scars and wrinkles and restore sun-damaged skin. Its effects are also to improve damaged skin tissue such as occurs with stretch-marks. Rosehip oil is one of the active ingredients in Fixaderm.

Aloe Vera and other herbal substances

For those who may not like using oils, aloe vera has many skin and health benefits and is particularly well-known for its healing properties. Aloe vera can be placed directly on the stretch marks. Wash off after ten to fifteen minutes. For best results, apply daily.

Besides the oils mentioned individually above, other oils such as geranium, frankincense, jasmine, helichrysum, and neroli have been used with varying degrees of success to help reduce stretchmarks. If you wish to try your own preparations for dealing with this condition, these are some you could try.  However, as has been said above, an oil blend such as Fixadermis a most effective treatment for those who can acquire it.
