The best anti-aging oils are found in nature, hydrating the skin and providing antioxidant protection. Here are some of our favourite essential and other plant oils which prominently feature as ingredients in our skincare range, and with good reason. These oils work on a cellular level and have remarkable skin healing properties.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil would have to be at the top of our list because of its incredible hydrating properties. It contains Vitamin E, Vitamin B complex, silicon, iodine and zinc. Jojoba oil can fight the bacteria that lead to breakouts and slow down the signs of aging. It is extremely beneficial as it can moisturise our skin when our body loses the natural ability to do so. Jojoba oil also works to keep oil levels balanced ensuring it as an excellent choice for our Necessity skincare products.

Patchouli Essential Oil

The team at Necessity is a huge fan of the earthy scent of patchouli for many reasons. Not only does it prevent scarring, but it is also perfect for smoothing fine lines and reducing wrinkles. It can help regulate the production of sebum and tighten and tone sagging skin making it a great option for those looking to reverse the effects of aging.

Camellia Oil

Camellia oil is extremely high in naturally-occurring antioxidants and is rich in Vitamin A, B, D and E and Omega 3, 6 and 9. Traditionally used by geisha to remove their white face makeup, it has the ability to keep the skin soft and smooth. Extremely nourishing for mature skin thanks to the high oleic acid content, camellia oil can reduce sun damage, age spots and fine lines.

Grapeseed Oil

Grapeseed oil is abundant in polyphenols which are antioxidants that work to decelerate the aging process. The oil helps to minimise pores, tighten the neck and skin as well as diminish dark circles around the eyes, giving the appearance of more youthful looking skin. Grapeseed oil aids in improving elasticity and doubles as a gentle moisturiser.
